A meeting sponsored by Vogue Italia of the best fashion photographers of the 20th century: David Bailey, Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Paolo Roversi, Ellen von Unwerth…
It might seem like the nineties are just around the corner, but it’s been 30 years, and the recordings of those days—the last moment of full expressive freedom before the arrival of the Internet—have the allure of nostalgia, natural beauty, and boldness. This film documents the preparation of an issue of Vogue Italia on the tenth anniversary of Franca Sozzani’s arrival at the magazine. Two generations of photographers (Bailey, Newton, Roversi, Weber, Lindbergh, Aldridge) interpret their unique vision of beauty in editorials in New York, Paris, the Mojave Desert, Lake Saranac, London, or Monte Carlo. The cameos are impressive: Armani, Gaultier, Lagerfeld, or the always colorful Anna Piaggi.
